Butterfly Wings .:chapter 7:.

Discord helped Fluttershy close her curtains and lock her windows.

"You stay upstairs. I'll go see what's going on," Fluttershy was trying to hold back her fear, but the shivering still broke through. Discord placed a paw on Fluttershy's shoulder, saying, "Be careful," before running upstairs. He paused at the top to see Fluttershy heading for the door before letting out a sigh then disappearing into the upstairs' bedroom.

Fluttershy inched closer and closer to the door. With each step she felt more and more frightened of what was outside. She reached for the handle, but the door swung open before she could reach it. There was a flash of pink, and then the door slammed shut again. Fluttershy screamed and jumped back from the sudden movement but the flash of pink that Fluttershy had just seen was only Pinkie Pie.

Pinkie threw herself to the ground, just in front of Fluttershy, causing her to lift her hooves back, as the pink pony squealed, "FLUTTERSHY! I'M SO SO SO SO SO SORRY!" Pinkie cried, "I BROKE THE PINKIE PROMISE! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

Fluttershy gaped at her; still recovering from the fright she had just recieved, but was then distracted by the door being swung open again. There was a warm glow, with soft colors swirling through the door. Fluttershy immediately knew who it was, "No..."

Pinkie backed up, letting out small sorrys.

"Where is he?" demanded a sharp, yet graceful voice. Fluttershy looked up at the tall alicorn who stood elegantly in front of her, "P-princess. I'm s-sorry..." tears began to swell in her eyes, "I-I just.. I... He... I saw him and I just-"

The princess stopped her with a raised hoof, "I'll have explanations later. Now if you'll tell me where he is?"

Fluttershy didn't know what to say. This was the princess of all of Equestria she was talking to. If she told her where Discord is, she'd most likely have him killed!

Just at that moment, Twilight, Apple Jack, and Rarity entered the house. Rainbow dash wasn't there, though. Nopony knew where she was.

"Well?" Celestia snapped.

The tears in Fluttershy's eyes began to roll down her cheeks, "I don't want to say... I'm sorry Princess."

Celestia's eyes flashed with a look of frustration. She was silent for a moment before brushing past the trembling Pegasus and beginning to search her house. While she did, Fluttershy's friends walked over to give her comfort.

"Ah had a bad feelin' 'bout this Fluttershy. Ya should'a just left 'm alone," Apple Jack, pointed out with a soft voice. Fluttershy sniffed miserably and cuddled into her friends' hooves.

Celestia continued to search throughout Fluttershy's house, "Discord! I know you're in here!"

Discord heard her call out and his heart stopped. He clenched his teeth as the sound of hooves on a chalkboard hit his ears.

"NO! YOU CAN'T GO UP THERE!" Fluttershy yelled as she saw the princess step onto the first step of her stairs. Her friends jumped back at the sudden movement. Celestia quickly turned her head to face fluttershy, "And why not?"

Fluttershy tried to think of a reason, besides the fact that Discord was up there, but her mind was blank.

Celestia frowned and began heading up the stairs again. Fluttershy pushed her friends away as she got up and began after Celestia. Twilight, A.J and Rarity chased after her.

Discord heard the hoof-steps of the princess coming up the stairs, shortly followed by the hoof-steps of the younger ponies. He knew they were headed his way. He carefully got up, trying not to make a sound and headed towards the window. He reached forward, turning the handle just when Celestia's reflection came into view, the rest coming up beside her.

"Discord!" Celestia's sharp voice pierced into his mind. He froze at the sound of her voice. Slowly, he turned around to face the princess, hands up by his shoulders.

Celestia's horn began to glow a bright, white glow. It flickered like a small flame and the shadows on the wall began to shift. She marched towards Discord at a fast pace, pointing her horn at his throat.

Discord gulped and shut his eyes tightly.

"No! Princess don't!" Fluttershy tried to pull Celestia away from Discord, but the princess was too strong and she simply ignored her efforts, "Why? Why did you come back to Ponyville Discord?! TELL ME!"

Discord tried to move away from her but he couldn't, he was pressed to firmly against the window.

"You can't kill him! You can't!" Fluttershy continued to protest. Her friends were surprised by her assertiveness. She wasn't normally like this.

"Fluttershy, give me one good reason why I shouldn't tear him apart."

"BECAUSE I LOVE HIM!" Fluttershy choked out.

"WHAT?!" Discord exclaimed, eyes wide.

The glow on the tip of Celestia's horn immediately faded as she turned and gawked at Fluttershy. The room was filled with looks of confusion, anger, and dismay.

After a few moments Fluttershy realized was she had just said. She buried her head into her hooves to hide her blush.

"Alright then..." Celestia broke the silence. She turned back to Discord, "Discord, you are to be banished to the Everfree Forest."

"But that's already where I stay..." Discord told her.

"No. You know that old castle in the middle of the forest?"

"Yeah…what about it?"

"That's where you are to go. We will meet you there."

Celestia walked towards the stairs. She called the young ponies to come with her, "Come on girls. I'll get the elements."

Rarity, Twilight, and Apple jack got up to follow the princess. None of them were at all happy.

Fluttershy stayed for a little longer. She looked at Discord who was in shock from the fact that the elements were going to be used on him again…and another thing.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything..." Fluttershy got up and followed the others, sobbing.

Discord gazed towards the stairs where ponies had gone. The last thing he wanted right now was to be turned to stone. He wanted to prove his innocence, so he did what he was told. He turned around and opened the window before leaning out and letting himself drop.

He fell, but caught himself with his wings just before he hit the ground. He flew slowly to the Everfree forest, ignoring the mob of ponies below him, throwing rocks and dirt at him. The heat coming from the flames stung his eyes and they began to water from both pain and sorrow.
